Carry-on Baggage
When traveling with us, you're allowed one carry-on bag plus one personal item, such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop computer. At least one of the items should be stowed under the seat in front of you, and you'll also need to be able to lift your bag into the overhead bin.
Passengers are responsible for carrying their carry-on baggage onto the aircraft and placing it in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of them. The carry-on bag should be easy to handle and not exceed the size and weight restrictions.
Alaska Airlines also has restrictions on the items that can be brought in a carry-on bag. For example, hazardous materials and dangerous goods are not allowed in carry-on baggage or checked baggage, including explosives, flammable materials, and sharp objects.
Passengers may be asked to gate-check their carry-on bag if it does not meet the size and weight restrictions, if there is limited overhead bin space on the aircraft, or if it contains items not allowed on board. In this case, the carry-on bag will be checked at the gate and returned to the passenger upon arrival.
Passengers traveling with infants or small children may also bring additional items on board, such as a stroller, diaper bag, or child safety seat, in addition to their carry-on baggage and personal item.
It's essential to review the airline's carry-on baggage policy before traveling to ensure compliance with the restrictions and to make the boarding process as smooth as possible.
Size of a carry-on bag
The new airline carry-on luggage size restriction is 22" x 14" x 9", including wheels and handles. So before you fly, make sure to measure your bag thoroughly.
One carry-on bag and one personal object, such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop bag, will still be permitted. Ensure that your belongings fit into the overhead compartment or under the seat before you, making the boarding process easy and feasible for everyone.

If you only use Alaska Airlines for your trip, another carrier might charge your bags. For information on which airline's baggage policy applies, consult your trip confirmation. The following guidelines and charges apply when Alaska Airlines' luggage policy is in force:
