Carry-on Baggage

On all domestic and international flights (except those to Long Island, Acklins, Crooked Island, Mayaguana, and Inagua), each passenger is permitted one (1) personal item and one (1) carry-on bag.

1. Maximum dimensions are 22" x 14" x 9" and 20 pounds (9.07 kg). FREE
2. One carry-on bag is allowed on flights to and from Long Island, Acklins, Crooked Island, Mayaguana, and Inagua.
3. Maximum weight: 8.16 kilograms (18 lbs). FREE

Checked Baggage 

INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS

Each checked bag must not exceed 62 inches (157.48 cm) in dimensions (length + breadth + height) & 50 pounds (22.68 kg) in weight.

1. First Bag:  $25.00
2. Second Bag:  $45.00
3. Third Bag:  $75.00
4. Fourth Bag (and more each):  $125.00

DOMESTIC FLIGHTS

1. Each checked bag must not exceed 62 inches (157.48 cm) in dimensions (length + breadth + height) & 50 pounds (22.68 kg) in weight.
2. First Bag:  FREE
3. Second Bag:  $45.00
4. Third Bag:  $75.00
5. Fourth Bag (and more each):  $125.00
6. Allowable Bag greater than 50 lbs:  $75.00 + VAT

Excess Baggage 

International (except Cuba):

Bags more significant than 50 pounds (22.68 kilos) & 62 inches

51 – 70 lbs (23.13 – 31.75 kg): $75.00

Greater than 70 lbs (31.75 kg) & less than 99 lbs (44.9 kg): $125.00

Greater than 62″ & 70 lbs (32 kg): $150.00

Bags weighing more than 99 lbs will not be accepted.

NOTE: All televisions checked in will be subject to charges and are NOT included in the free baggage allowance. The following charges will apply:

Up to 32" screen: $50.00

33" – 45" screen: $75.00

46" – 54" screen: $100.00

Up to 55" screen: $125.00

Cuba
Each checked bag must not exceed 62 inches (157.48 cm) in dimensions (length + breadth + height) & 50 lbs (22.68 kg) in weight.

One Bag:  $25
Bags 51 – 70 lbs (23.13 – 31.75 kg): $75.00

Checked bags are limited to one (1) piece per passenger due to the infrequency of flights related to COVID-19.

Sports equipment 

Bahamasair allows passengers to carry their sports equipment on their next adventure. The items permitted on board are as follows-

1. Bicycles: $125.00
   The bicycles must be carried in a padded case and packed in plastic foam or cardboard box or similar material to prevent damage. 
2. Surfboard
   This is treated as checked baggage; it must meet the baggage allowance. In addition, passengers must pack the surfboards in hard cases to prevent any damage to the equipment. 
3. Windsurf Board
   This is treated as checked baggage; the equipment must meet the baggage allowance. Passengers need to pack the gear properly to prevent any damage. 
4. Kite surfboard
   This is also treated as checked baggage; the payment must meet the baggage allowance. Passengers need to pack the equipment to prevent damage to the equipment properly. 
5. Archery equipment, bowling balls, camping equipment, fishing gear, golf clubs, scuba gear, skateboard, sleeping bag/tent, tennis rackets, backpack, boogie/speed boards – all fall under checked baggage, and equipment must not way over 99lbs. 
6. Shooting equipment
   This equipment is treated as checked baggage; items must not be way over 99 lbs. If the equipment is packed in a soft case, it will not be accepted for carriage. Ammunition needs to be under 11 lbs weight. In addition, passengers must carry a firearm license.
