Hand/Cabin Baggage Policy

1. Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 55cm x 40cm x 23cm / 22in x 16in x 9in (length x width x height)
2. Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 8 Kg/18 lb

NOTE: Bulkhead seats lack under-seat storage, so all carry-on and cabin luggage must be stored in the overhead compartment during takeoff and landing.

Checked Baggage 

The following basic regulations apply for the free baggage allowance on all intercontinental flights operated by Lufthansa:

1. Economy Class: 1 bag up to 23 kg (50 lb)
2. Premium Economy Class: 2 bags up to 23 kg (50 lb) each
3. Business Class: 2 bags up to 32 kg (70 lb) each
4. First Class: 3 bags up to 32 kg (70 lb) each

Additional or Excess Baggage

In Economy and Premium Economy Class, a piece of baggage is considered to be excess baggage when it weighs more than 23 kg (up to a maximum of 32 kg) and is more significant than 158 cm (the sum of width X + height Y + depth Z up to a maximum of 292 cm).

In Business and First Class, a piece of baggage is considered excess baggage when its total dimensions are more significant than 158 cm up to a maximum of 292 cm.
