Baggage allowance
Carry-on baggage
Malaysia Airlines permits economy class passengers to carry one piece of carry-on baggage. In addition to this, the baggage can weigh a maximum of 7kg. On the other hand, business class and business suite passengers can carry two pieces of carry-on baggage. In addition to this, the baggage can weigh a maximum of 7kg each. Therefore, in total they can carry 14kg. Lastly, any liquids or gels over 100ml are not allowed in the carry-on baggage.
Checked baggage
Malaysia Airlines permits first class (business suite) passengers to carry two pieces of checked-in baggage that weighs a maximum of 50kg. Furthermore, business class passengers can bring 2 pieces of baggage up to 40kg weight. Economy class passengers can also bring two pieces of baggage with a maximum 30kg weight. In addition, one piece of baggage cannot exceed 32kg weight with a maximum 158 dimensions.
Extra baggage
Passengers have the option of purchasing extra baggage. They can do so by contacting the call centre of Malaysia Airlines or they can also go to the website and go to the “Manage Booking” section. Moreover, this service is only available for up to 24 hours prior to the departure of the flight. Please refer below for excess baggage rates:

Special/Sporting equipment
Malaysia Airlines permits passengers to purchase an extra seat, cabin seat baggage. This basically allows passengers to carry heavier items into the cabin, items that are not accepted in the aircraft hold. For instance, these items include works of art, diplomatic baggage, musical instruments, electronic equipment and valuable baggage. Lastly, Malaysia Airlines allows passengers to carry the following sporting equipment:
