Baggage Policy

Philippine Airlines is the flag carrier of the Philippines and one of the country's largest airlines. Therefore, knowing their baggage allowance policies and fee is essential if you plan to fly with Philippine Airlines.

Carry-on/Cabin Baggage Policy

  1. The cabin baggage must not exceed dimensions of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm (22in x 14in x 9in) and must weigh no more than 7kg (15 lbs). This includes any handles, wheels, and pockets. The personal item can be a handbag, laptop bag, or small backpack and must fit under the seat in front of the passenger.
  2. Passengers can also bring certain items on board besides their cabin baggage and personal items, such as a coat, umbrella, and duty-free shopping purchases.
  3. It is important to note that carry-on baggage allowances may vary depending on the route, cabin class, and fare type, so passengers are advised to check the airline's website or contact customer service for specific information regarding their flight.

NOTE: Bulkhead seats lack under-seat storage, so all carry-on and cabin luggage must be stored in the overhead compartment during takeoff and landing.

Checked baggage

  1. For domestic flights within the Philippines, Economy Class passengers can check in one piece of baggage weighing up to 20kg (44 lbs). In contrast, Business Class passengers can check in two parts of luggage weighing up to 30kg (66 lbs) each.
  2. For international flights, Economy Class passengers are typically allowed to check in one or two pieces of baggage weighing up to 23kg (50 lbs) each, depending on the route. Business Class passengers are generally allowed to check in two or three pieces of baggage weighing up to 32kg (70lbs) each, depending on the route.
  3. Passengers are advised to check the airline's website or contact customer service for specific information regarding their flight's baggage allowance.
  4. Additional fees may apply for excess or oversized baggage, so passengers must pack carefully and within the allowed limits to avoid extra charges.
