Baggage Policy
If you're flying with Singapore, you should know the airline's luggage rules to avoid any last-minute surprises or unexpected costs. This post will go through the Singapore baggage Policy in depth, including the allowable luggage size and Weight, over-baggage prices, and more.
Hand/Cabin Baggage Policy
All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:
- Baggage Allowance for Economy Class passengers: 1 bag
- Baggage Allowance for First/Business Class passengers: 2 bags
- Maximum Weight for all classes: up to 7kg
- The sum of the length, width, and height of each piece should not exceed 115cm for all types.
NOTE: Bulkhead seats lack under-seat storage, so all carry-on and cabin luggage must be stored in the overhead compartment during takeoff and landing.
Checked Baggage
Passengers traveling to/from Brazil and the U.S.:
- Baggage Allowance: 2 pieces
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight (Brazil): 70 lb/32 kg
- Maximum Weight (U.S.): 51 lb/23 kg for Economy and 70 lb/32 kg for First Class/Suites
- KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members are allowed one extra bag regardless of the cabin.
Excess Baggage
Additional baggage indeed adds a sum to your ticket fare; this depends on your baggage weight and size. In contrast, flying oversize and overweight matters a lot.
